It's Me! (Cat)나야나! (고양이)
「나야나!(고양이)」는 장난꾸러기 소년과 그 곁의 고양이가 벌이는 한바탕 실랑이를 담은 작품입니다. 소년은 나뭇가지로 만든 낚싯대를 어깨에 척 걸치고, 줄 끝에 주황색 줄무늬 물고기를 대롱대롱 매달았습니다. 한 손은 허리에 얹고, 짧은 러닝셔츠 아래로 배꼽을 드러낸 채, 이 빠진 입으로 깔깔 웃고 있습니다.
소년의 발치에는 하얀 턱시도 무늬의 고양이가 앉아 있습니다. 고양이는 물고기를 올려다보며 앞발 하나를 힘껏 뻗었지만, 물고기는 아슬아슬하게 닿지 않는 높이에서 흔들립니다. 제목처럼 "나야 나! 그거 내 거야!" 하고 외치는 고양이의 목소리가 들리는 듯합니다.

It's Me! (Cat) captures a bit of a tussle between a mischievous boy and the cat beside him. The boy has a fishing rod made from a branch slung over his shoulder, with an orange-striped fish dangling from the end of the line. One hand on his hip, belly button peeking out below a short vest, he cackles through a gap-toothed grin.
At his feet sits a cat with white tuxedo markings. It looks up at the fish and stretches out a front paw with all its might, but the fish sways just out of reach. As the title suggests, you can almost hear the cat shouting, "It's me! That's mine!"
A teasing boy and a pleading cat. Their eyes don't meet, yet what flows between them is not a quarrel but the playful affection of friends who play together every day. White slippers, a crumpled vest and shorts: a lazy summer afternoon in the yard is captured whole.

어릴 적 마당에는 늘 고양이 한 마리가 어슬렁거렸습니다. 그 고양이를 놀려 주는 게 하루의 가장 큰 재미였지요.
작품 속 소년은 나뭇가지 끝에 물고기를 매달고 고양이 앞에서 흔들어 댑니다. 고양이는 앞발을 뻗어 보지만 번번이 허탕입니다. 그래도 고양이는 소년 곁을 떠나지 않고, 소년도 결국 그 고양이와 노는 게 제일 즐겁습니다.
제목 「나야나!」는 고양이의 목소리입니다. 처음엔 "그 물고기 내 거야!"라는 외침이지만, 가만히 들어 보면 "네 제일 친한 친구는 나야!"라는 고백처럼 들리기도 합니다.

When I was a child, there was always a cat wandering around our yard. Teasing that cat was the best fun of the day.
The boy in this work ties a fish to the end of a branch and dangles it in front of the cat. The cat reaches out its paw but misses every time. Still, it never leaves the boy's side, and in the end the boy has the most fun playing with that cat.
The title, It's Me!, is the cat's voice. At first it is the cry "That fish is mine!", but if you listen closely it also sounds like a confession: "I'm your best friend!"
I hope you will remember the best friend who stuck by your side as a child in front of this work. Those times of teasing and squabbling were, in truth, the tenderest times of all.
